Cheap Cell Phone Plans – Without all the Expense
I’ve searched high and low on the internet and in stores for the best and cheapest cell phone plans available. In my most recent research to purchase a new cell phone for myself and my family I found that all of the three companies I mentioned earlier offer cell phone plans starting at $30 all the way up to $150+. I thought I’d write something up so people can get accurate information from a fellow shopper and stop wasting money on expensive cell phone plans while still getting the reliable coverage they need.
The cheapest cell phone service plans available today are prepaid cell phone plans or those which have been established with no contract needed. With a prepaid wireless plan, you pay for a certain period upfront, say 3 months or 1 year. Before that service period ends, you add service time and minutes to your phone. If you prefer, you can also sign up on recurring monthly plan, similar to a traditional plan. That way, a fixed number of minutes is added to your account each month and depleted over the course of the month. If you need more usage minutes, you can purchase extra airtime cards to top up. Service is maintained until you choose to cancel it. There are no contracts or cancellation penalties.
While prepaid cell phone plans cost users the least for wireless service, there is no one single cheapest cell phone plan that is best for everyone. You have to reflect on your own needs and pick what suits you best. You need to consider several factors such as whether you would like to have unlimited minutes and/or unlimited texting.
If having cellular service is just for emergency use and a few occasional calls, then the $10 a month cell phone plan is probably all you need. This is especially true for senior citizens. If you are used to paying $50 a month for your cellular phone service, that’s a savings of $40 a month or $480 a year.
An average $10 a month plan gives you 50 minutes of talk time a month. They include a cheap family cell phone plans option that allows you to purchase cell service at $6/ month for each additional phone line.
Activation: The activation fee is a fee that the cell phone companies have to pay as a hook up fee if you will for connecting your cell phone to the network.
